On the East coast, in the South of the Island, you will discover the remains of one of the first European city. It means a urban organized and coherent housing, some of the houses have specific attributes (stockroom, council room…). It seems that the archaeological site is dated from about the same period of the Trojan era. Visiting the site is worth for its History but also for its landscape. The city of Poliochni was built on the heights with a view, which is unavoidable, on the South East beaches. There is a small museum on the site and a little refreshing café is nearby.
