The small town of Kontias is charming not only because of its renovated mills and its typical houses but also because the town is very dynamic culturally speaking, and it tends to develop a “cultural” tourism. The new Museum of Balkan Art is an example, it is interesting for its exhibitions of artists coming from the East and from the continent, their inspiration is clearly marked by the Mediteranean. The museum collaborations with many neighboring countries was at the begining the wish of one person and then, an active association has carried on the work thanks to some funds.
